Expertise I am interested in the role of gardeners in reducing the risks associated with invasive species, and how gardeners can contribute towards identifying ornamental plants with invasive potential. This has been the focus of my PhD, in which I have adopted social science methods. My PhD research is also looking at gardeners’ perceptions and how they define important terms such as ‘invasive’. I have interest and experience in raising awareness of invasive species through public engagement and science communication.
