Associate Editor of Aquatic Invasions, BioInvasions Records and Management of Biological Invasions
Expertise My overarching objective is to improve detection of marine invasive invertebrates (ascidians, bryozoans, etc.) by examining the probability of rare species detection at different temporal and spatial scales, patterns of recruitment, and larval distribution and settlement. I hope that my research will contribute to early detection efforts by developing strategies that (1) optimize the spatial scale for invasive species monitoring based on field experiments, (2) reduce sampling effort in space and time, and (3) increase the probability of detection by targeting where aquatic propagules are most likely to be found.
