Expertise Frequent anthropogenic activities have resulted in rapidly changing environments. I have broad research interests associated with these rapid changes in human activities-influenced aquatic ecosystems (both freshwater and coastal waters). Generally, I utilize omics (genomics, epigenomics, Transcriptomes, etc) tools to answer fundamental questions mainly in 1) dispersal and colonization patterns of aquatic invasive species in difference environments; 2) genetic/epigenetic mechanisms of rapid evolution and local adaption of aquatic species; and 3) influence of multiple environmental stressors (e.g. chemical pollutants, invasive species, human disturbance, etc) on aquatic community structure and functioning.
