Expertise My current interests include amphipods and other malacostracan crustaceans as model organisms in studies upon speciation, phylogeography and phylogeny of freshwater organisms as well as the problem of biological invasions in European inland and marine waters. Together with my colleagues we focus upon evolutionary history and distribution patterns of biodiversity in freshwater and coastal ecosystems.
